Environmental Lawsuits Rake in Billions for Lawyers, Idaho Farm Bureau News, posted to KBC 10/30/09.

"Isn't the only hope for the planet that the
industrialized civilizations collapse?
Isn't it our responsibility to bring that about?"

Maurice Strong, Head of the 1992 Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro

"We must make this an insecure and inhospitable place for capitalists, and their projects... We must reclaim the roads and plowed land, halt dam construction, tear down existing dams, free shackled rivers, and return to wilderness millions of tens of millions of acres of presently settled land." David Foreman, EarthFirst! member

Think about it.......look what is happening in the Klamath Basin...look what is happening in Oregon, in the Western US, in America.  How many civilizations have survived when their food source has been eliminated?

In this section, we will look at what is happening in the Klamath Basin and other areas to try to gain understanding into the agenda that seeks to eliminate our communities....our productivity, our work ethics, our way of life.

The truth about Trout Unlimited, a stakeholder at the Klamath Basin Restoration Agreement Table, by Toni Thayer, posted on our discussion forum 4/21/09. "The people running the show and the decision makers are some of the world's richest people involved in the Trilateral Commission, the Federal Reserve, global markets of energy, real estate, investments, computers and Burger King. The group's scope has expanded to include managing all of America's physical resources and land uses - rivers, fish, grazing, agriculture, logging, mines, roads, electricity, coastal waters and every square inch of the U.S. since it all drains into a watershed somewhere."

"One of the biggest challenges about Klamath Basin agriculture are the false narratives that get treated as fact. Maybe it’s accidental, but in most cases it’s calculated misinformation to push an agenda. When these bits of fiction get pushed out to the public, it creates an atmosphere that makes it hard for everyone up and down the Klamath River to find a solution to save fish and farms...."

Karen explains how the federal government reimburses environmental groups and litigants like Earthjustice and Center for Biological Diversity for attorney fees suing the federal government, however individuals or small groups rarely are reimbursed when trying to save their farms or property. The government does not account for how much money it gives these groups for fees.

The purpose of the legislation is to bring accountability and transparency for the payment of attorneys fees to the American public. Since 1995, there has been no accounting of this money; money that by the smallest of estimates is in the hundreds of millions of dollars..." None of this money goes to on-the-ground conservation; this taxpayer funding is just to process petitions filed by only two, out of dozens, of radical environmental groups..." and "...the Justice Department ...will pay their attorney fees..." (KBC NOTE: These films blast salvaging Siskiyou burnt forests, and blast Klamath dams. The review celebrates the film made with the tribes and Klamath Water Users. In this review it states "that the dams create unpredictability in water supplies for farmers, deplete fish stocks for coastal fishermen...", however, KBC watched the film and does not find any case for unpredictable water supplies being caused by the dams. Actually, the Klamath Project provides predictable regulated flows for fish and power in the Klamath River. And the coastal fishermen we have talked with say that the government's depleting hatcheries is a cause of 'depleted fish stocks'. They contend the new rule on "natural spawned fish" is the weapon used to shut down fishing, as there are lots of fish spawned in the hatchery, fish genetically equal to natural spawners. And HERE is KBC review of the film.)

PRESS RELEASE: Congressmen Doolittle, Herger, House Agriculture Chairman Bob Goodlatte Blast Radical Environmentalists, 9/30/04. "It's clear that these so called 'environmentalists' are intent on turning our communities into charred shrines to their cause," stated local Representative John T. Doolittle.  "The obstructionists who filed this baseless lawsuit are inviting destruction on the very forests they claim to protect.  In order to return our forests to a healthy state we need to expedite these forest restoration projects and not allow these radical eco-marxists to hijack the process."

Monument ranchers seek buyout, The Oregonian August 23, 2004. Andy Kerr was in Klamath in 2001 advocating buying out the farmers--go HERE.. He helped destroy Oregon's logging industry (helping Oregon be the highest unemployment in the nation). His tactic, as he spells out very straightforward, is lawsuits, endangered species, whatever it takes in threats and bullying, like, you will lose everything when we are done with you, so now is your chance to take government money and go away. Read  Kerr's 'Don't Try to Improve Grazing; Abolish It!'.  He moved to Wallowa to destroy the agricultural community there. This week, according to a local government agency, Kerr is back in the Klamath Basin to meet with Congressman Blumenauer, the Portland Congressman trying to force Klamath farmer buyouts called "willing sellers".

Scottish Power Attempts to Foreclose on Klamath Restoration Options,ONRC Alert 180, 4/23/04.  It appears ONRC, along with the Tribes, are using the expiring license of PacifiCorp to pressure them into introducing more endangered fish into the Klamath Basin. It seems they yelled drought in 2001 and shut down the farmers, and the NAS (National Academy of Science) said it was unjustified.  They blamed us for a Trinity fish die-off and the NAS said it was not the irrigator's fault. Then they wanted the NAS best available science on lake levels and river flows, and the NAS said that lake level/river flow management is unjustified. So they've thrown out the NAS and are trying to insert a new endangered species which would further downsize agriculture in the Klamath Basin. jdk

On Earth Day, don't forget the victims of environmentalism, 4/23/04, Pacific Legal Foundation. "For instance, in the Klamath River Basin along the Oregon-California border, the feds came close to wiping out century-old farming communities two years ago, when they cut off irrigation in order to supply more water for sucker fish and salmon. As a federal district court recently recognized, the government has been systematically underestimating fish populations by refusing to count those born in hatcheries. When hatchery fish are added, the claim that salmon are “endangered” goes away."

Pacific Legal Foundation Releases Earth Day List of Top 5 “Human Costs” of Environmental Extremism, PLF 4/21/04."Klamath farmers lost their crops and the local economy lost an estimated $200 million in crop and property value, devastating the region. Abandon the religion of environmentalism, Times Standard, posted to kbc 3/29/04: "The romantic view of the natural world as a blissful Eden is only held by people who have no actual experience of nature. Those of us who live and work in nature are not romantic about it at all, but we love and value it. We hold spiritual beliefs about the world around us, we have a sense of the unity and living nature of all things. But we still kill the animals, uproot plants and haul in the fish in order to eat. If we don't, we -- and you -- will die. "

Folks wonder why the Oregon economy is destroyed, fires rage, Oregon unemployment is highest in the USA. Read on for details: Andy Kerr, 'Don't try to improve grazing, abolish it', outlines how he and the environmental groups will litigate to break the ranchers.

" Better grazing is also boring to work on. Abolition is much more interesting."

"We must make it more expensive for elite welfare ranchers. On forests west of the Cascades, the timber industry used to expend X amount of effort for Y amount of timber. Today, while they still aren't run off the public forests within the range of the Northern spotted owl, they do have to spend 10 times the effort for maybe one-tenth of the timber."

Kerr tells how the ONRC are using the ESA to end timber, and tells which species they plan to use to reach their goals.
