Letter from Liz Bowen, editor of PieNPolitics, to Siskiyou Daily News editor John Bowman and publisher Rod Dowse criticizing Bowman's "Huffington Post" slander in his Sheriff Jon Lopey article

7/16/12

KBC EDITOR: Siskiyou Sheriff Lopey is a Christian, an American citizen, and a sheriff who believes in his oath of upholding the United States Constitution

Dear John Bowman and Publisher Rod Dowse,

I am so extremely disappointed in the article published in the Siskiyou Daily News on July 16, 2012, that quoted so many lies purported by the Huffington Post against Siskiyou County Sheriff Jon Lopey. It was written by reporter John Bowman.

Make no mistake: This reeks of slander, because the article ran as a news article – not an opinion piece.

Bowman obtained quotes from Sheriff Lopey to correct the lies in “Huffington Post” and did not use them.

Sheriff Lopey is NOT above the law. He knows the law better than most.

Just because he believes the law must be followed by the federal and state agencies, he is criticized and maligned by the leftists and Greenies and Bowman. Remember 79 percent of Siskiyou County agrees with Sheriff Lopey on the Klamath dams issue – Measure G passed in the 2010 election.

There is great respect for Sheriff Lopey in Siskiyou County.

There is little respect for John Bowman and even less for Huffington Post – except for the occasional loud-mouth Greenie or Karuk leader.

It is disgusting this is considered a “news article” as it continues to be a way-out-there-man “op-ed” – one that “Huffington Post” will be proud of.

Sincerely,

Liz Bowen
