Dr. Hunt, “Cal,” was born in Klamath Falls on June 26, 1920, to Dr. Warren and Ethel Hunt. He grew up in Klamath Falls with his brothers Bob, Don and Jim, who preceded him in death.
After graduating from high school, Cal attended Oregon State University and University of Oregon Medical School in 1943. He served his internship at the State of Wisconsin General Hospital.
He served two years as a captain and surgeon in the U.S. Army Medical Corps at Battle Creek, Mich.
He began his medical practice in Klamath Falls as a physician and surgeon from 1947 to 1967 and, in 1967, started a practice as a specialist in allergy and respiratory disease until he retired in 1986.

Cal was intrigued with agriculture in the Philippines and, with the help of a friend, started a banana plantation. It was a successful venture, benefiting people of the area and assisting in providing improved living conditions. With the help of his family and the Klamath Rotary, he organized shipment of 37 tons of school books to the Philippines.
