Our hearts are
breaking from the devastation our staff and
families have suffered, and our only job right
now is to protect everyone’s safety and
wellbeing.
Our
administrative team has been working hard with
community, county, and state organizations to
create an integrated, systematized response so
that we can effectively support those in need.
We want to wholeheartedly thank all the first
responders and the County Emergency Management
Team for all of their work to protect and
support our families.
In addition,
the staff members of Phoenix-Talent Schools have
stepped up in ways that are unimaginable! So
many have given their time, support and
resources! Thank you to those who are serving
all around our valley!
We’ve also had
an outpouring of support from the community.
Thank you! Your generous care, support, and
contributions are what we are needing right
now. We couldn’t be more grateful.
Earlier this
summer, as we began planning the fall return to
school, we created PTS Rising! with
shared guiding principles: Calm,
Clarity, Compassion, and Courage.
Those words have become even more poignant.
What we know right now:
-
Many families
have lost everything. We are estimating that
approximately 50% of our families have lost
their homes.
-
All of our
schools are standing due to the valiant
efforts of our first responders during this
tragic event.
-
Most of our
district does not have power, water
(including our schools), and there are areas
that are still unsafe.
-
We will not
be starting school next week, and we’ll let
you know as soon as we have a good estimate
on when we can start up Comprehensive
Distance Learning.
- If in
need...go to the Jackson County Expo in
Central Point.
The Expo is the best and safest place to
receive care and services. A
daily “shuttle” will be running from Home
Depot in Phoenix to the Expo for families
that do not have transportation.

Get all of
your information directly from our district
and schools - not personal social media
sources. We will frequently provide updates
on our PTS website, Facebook, and Instagram
accounts.
I know many of
you have questions about the status of your
homes, loved one’s homes, and neighborhoods.
Emergency personnel are asking us to stay away
from the area because it’s dangerous, and so
they can continue their dedicated work of
fighting the fire. The fires are not yet fully
contained.

Nuestros
corazones se rompen por la devastación que

Al principio
de este verano, cuando comenzamos planear el
regreso a clases del otoño, creamos PTS Rising! con
